Meet Our Healthcare Team


 

ATTACHED NURSING AND PARAMEDICAL STAFF

 

Our attached Nursing and Paramedical team provide essential additional support to our patients by offering dedicated clinics in the Surgery or at their own teambase.  The team will attend patients at home if they are unable to come in to the Surgery.  Our attached staff liaise closely with the Doctors and Nurses in the Practice and they attend our weekly Practice Meetings to discuss any issues that may arise.


DISTRICT NURSING TEAM - 513881


The district nurse team are based at North Ayr Health Centre.   They provide nursing care at home for a wide range of patients including the elderly, post operative and terminally ill, enabling patients to remain in their own home during their illness and convalescence.

 

HEALTH VISITORS - 885532


Our Health Visitor team are based at North Ayr Health Centre where they offer a drop-in Child Health Clinic.  The Health Visitors also provide a Child Immunisaton Clinic in the Surgery on Friday afternoons. 

Health Visitors promote good health for all age groups by clinical assessment and health education.

 

COMMUNITY MIDWIFE - 285893


Our Community Midwife holds ante-natal clinics at North Ayr Health Centre every Wednesday and Thursday.   We offer parenthood education, for example:- couples classes, aquanatal and breastfeeding workshops and also visit prospective patients in their homes.

 

 

CLINICAL COMMUNITY PSYCHIATRIC NURSES - 619699


The Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) Team are based at Strathdoon House. CPNs see patients, following referral by their GP, either at home or at the surgery. The nurses offer a variety of services including supportive counselling, bereavement counselling, advice on stress and anger management techniques, and information on other local services appropriate to the patients' needs.

 

SELF HELP SUPPORT WORKER

 

We have a Self-Help Support Worker attached to the Practice.  Patients will see the Support Worker following referral by one of our GPs. 

 

DIETITIAN


The Dietitian attends the surgery to provide support and dietary advice to patients who are affected by eating disorders or who need additional help to manage their weight.  Appointments with the Dietitian are by GP referral.  Our Dietitian also provides support and advice to patients who have been diagnosed with Diabetes.
