Help us To Help You

Our aim is to offer our patients a fast, efficient and friendly service. However, to enable us to do this we require some help from yourselves.

1. Please do not request home visits unless you are housebound or genuinely too ill to attend the surgery.

2. If you have several problems you wish to discuss with the doctor, please ask for a longer appointment. Hurried consultations are unsatisfactory for both doctor and patient alike.

3. Results of blood, urine and x-ray tests are available between 10.30am and 5.00pm. Blood tests are usually available 3 working days after they are taken (some special tests take longer). Urine tests are back in 4-5 days. Unfortunately x-ray results are usually not reported for 10-14 days and reports from hospital clinic visits rarely reach us within 2 weeks.

4. The out-of-hours service is for emergencies and urgent problems which cannot wait until the following day to be seen. Please do not abuse this service.

5. If you are unable to attend an appointment please cancel as early as possible as this frees the appointment for someone else.
At present, approximately 200 patients a month do not attend for their appointment. This amounts to approximately 9% of our total appointments.

6. We always welcome suggestions as to any changes we can make to improve patient care and services we offer. If you have any suggestions please let us know by:

a)            putting your idea in writing, in the suggestion box which is situated in the main entrance,

b)             or via the feedback section on this website

c)             or asking to speak to the Business Manager

7. It is important that we know if your address or telephone number changes. Please keep us up to date with this information.  You can let us know by phone, by post, in person at the Surgery, or via this website.
